Department of Psychology Management and Counseling

The Department of Psychology Management & Counseling was officially established in 2016 under the restructuring of the UMMC organizational chart.

The department offers a wide range of services to all UMMC staff and students.

The Department offers four (4) main categories of services:

All these services are implemented through emphasis on development, prevention and rehabilitation.

Consultation / Guidance / Counseling
1. Individual or group ;
2. Face-to-face session;
3. Telephone, e-Counseling, Google Meet or Zoom.
4. The issues handled are:
  - Emotional management (e.g.: stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, burnout and others;
  - Personal issues (e.g.: Problems or conflicts of relationships, marriage, family and others);
  - Competence and work performance;
  - Self-motivation and work;
  - Physical and Mental Health Interventions;
  - Personal Finance Management Programme;
  - Disciplinary cases;
  - Complaints (e.g.: Sexual harassment)
  - Staff and students can get services voluntarily or be consulted
Psychological Test
1. Administration of psychological tests :
  - career interests;
  - personality;
  - mental health level screening (emotional)
  - screening of an interview;
Personnel Building Program
1. Aims to build a group of staff and students to have values and work ethics and a positive attitude;
2. Involve consultation sessions, guidance, courses, workshops, briefings, motivational talks, self-development programme, peer-coaching programme and teaching aids.
