Department Introduction

The establishment of the Department of Governance, Planning and Policy was approved by the UMMC Board of Directors on the 29th of April 2020 and began operation on the 6th of July 2020. This department reports directly to the Deputy Director (Management).

The main functions of this department are:

  1. Policy Coordination
  2. Strategic Planning
  3. Secretariat of Meeting
  4. Management of Corporate Services

Services Offered by the Department

1. Policy Coordination

  1. Leading the formulation of UMMC’s core business policies
  2. Studying, reviewing and coordinating matters related to UMMC’s governance
  3. Managing and coordinating all matters related to statutes, policies, schemes, regulations and the announcement of internal and external circulars
  4. Managing and coordinating issues pertaining ownership, the foundation of the establishment of UMMC and safekeeping of all relevant information/documentations
  5. Rebranding of the organization
  6. Managing and monitoring the use of the UMMC official logo and letterhead


2. Strategic Planning

  1. Designing and implementing the Strategic Planning Model for UMMC
  2. Monitoring the implementation of UMMC Strategic Planning


3. Secretariat of Meeting

  1. Planning, managing and coordinating meetings
  2. UMMC Administrative Meeting
  3. Internal Policy Meeting


4. Management of Corporate Services

  1. Managing the preparation of UMMC’s Annual Report and Financial Statements
  2. Managing the preparation and coordination of UMMC’s Cabinet Papers
  3. Managing the processes of registration and updating of existing and new committees in UMMC
  4. Managing and coordinating all Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) and Contracts in UMMC
  5. Coordinating UMMC’s official internal programs/activities such as Town Hall
  6. Handling incoming and outgoing faxes using the Faxcore system
